learning & Development

from the start, My career has been driven by the goal of helping people grow at work.

Throughout my 10 years as a talent manager in global companies, I had the opportunity to work on a variety of learning & development projects. I love designing training programmes, facilitating interactive workshops and connecting with people. I came away from my corporate career with a wealth of knowledge and experience that I can now provide to my clients.

People development is a critical component of your organisation’s success.

A strong L&D strategy will drive the engagement and retention of your employees. But if you only focus on the skills they need to do their job, aka hard skills, you will only achieve a small percentage of what they need.

As an employer, you need to nurture your employees by empowering them to grow, developing their confidence and giving them the tools to drive their development and career.

My areas of passion

These are the topics I am truly passionate about and where I want to make a difference.

  • Developing a mentoring programme by training managers and mentees to make the most of this wonderful development tool.

  • Implementing an action-learning culture by providing everyone with a set of basic coaching skills, so that your employees can support each other and drive collaboration across your organisation.

  • Designing development programmes and workshops for your early talent (graduates and apprentices) so that they can grow their professional skills, their confidence and their employability. Read more about this here.

  • Creating talent management practices that treat your employees like the adults that they are, giving them the keys to grow their career and development.

  • Embedding a coaching culture throughout your organisation, ultimately creating an environment where people thrive.

  • Delivering mental health awareness workshops to open the conversation about what it is and how we can support each other.

  • Facilitating return to work programmes to support the parents coming back to work after maternity/parental/adoption leave.

  • Delivering personal growth workshops to grow your employees’ confidence, emotional intelligence and self-awareness, on topics such as resilience, work-life balance, productivity, purpose, imposter syndrome, self-knowledge, etc.

HOW CAN I HELP?

I work closely with your L&D team to understand the needs of the organisation and I make suggestions to design a programme that is aligned to your objectives. I have a pragmatic approach, and I have been described as warm and authentic. I enjoy connecting with your stakeholders and making sure they are involved in the design process. I have experience working in multicultural environments.

Case studies

  • Viridor, recycling, renewable energy and waste management company, has an exciting people development strategy mapped out to support the growth of the company. I am supporting their L&D team in delivering some aspects of their strategy, including mentoring, early talent development and action learning.

“As a business, we were looking to introduce a Mentor programme. We worked with Catherine to develop a course that could be delivered either face-to-face or online. This launched to the business and has been a great success, with the content supporting our mentors to understand how to be a great mentor and how best to support their mentees.”

  • Medaille Trust exists to provide refuge and freedom to victims of modern slavery – supporting them as they rebuild their lives.

I designed and delivered a programme of three workshops for women supported by the Moving On Project. The workshops aimed at creating a space for the participants to discuss their employment goals, brainstorm possibilities, grow their confidence and set themselves actions to take. We covered topics like strengths, employment goals and skills development.
