THE MOMENT ONE DEFINITELY COMMITS ONESELF...

ON COMMITMENT - W. H. MURRAY 

UNTIL ONE IS COMMITTED THERE IS ALWAYS HESITANCY. THE CHANCE TO DRAW BACK, ALWAYS INEFFECTIVENESS.
 
THERE IS ONE ELEMENTARY TRUTH, THE IGNORANCE OF WHICH KILLS COUNTLESS IDEAS AND SPLENDID PLANS:
 
THE MOMENT ONE DEFINITELY COMMITS ONESELF, THEN PROVIDENCE MOVES TOO. ALL SORTS OF THINGS OCCUR TO HELP THAT WOULD NEVER OTHERWISE HAVE OCCURRED. A WHOLE STREAM OF EVENTS ISSUES FROM THE DECISION, RAISING TO ONE’S FAVOR ALL MANNER OF UNFORESEEN INCIDENTS, MEETINGS AND MATERIAL ASSISTANCE, WHICH NO MAN COULD HAVE DREAMT WOULD COME HIS WAY.

I heard this text when I was about to embark on my new coaching journey. It resonated very strongly with me for two reasons. 

It felt like W.H. Murray was talking about what I was about to do! It took a lot of thinking and  hesitating before making the decision of quitting my corporate HR job. Once I had resigned, events just started to flow: learning about the Animas Centre of Coaching, signing up to the Diploma, meeting new people, learning so many new things, working with new clients... I was a bit scared of what I was about to embark on, but I can only agree with what W.H. Murray says. 

The other reason this text is important to me - so much I framed it above my desk! - is because I want to share it with all my clients. If you are about to start being coached, this will also happen to you. Things will just happen and take you in the direction you've always wanted to go to.

So if you are committed to making that change happen in your life, be ready for "all sorts of things [to] occur" and "a whole stream of events" to unfold!
